NATCHEZ — A time-honored Natchez Christmas tradition continues Tuesday, Dec. 24, as Santa Claus rides in a parade, Rudolph position, to deliver candy to Natchez neighborhoods.

This unique Natchez parade of Santa Claus Committee members traditionally occurs every Christmas Eve.

The most important stop of the parade is the old Braden School, where Santa comes to see and deliver toys to hundreds of needy children throughout the community.

These children are pre-approved to get their Christmas presents early. But don’t worry.

Anyone can see Santa when he makes his way around town.

Below is the planned schedule and route for the parade on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

7:30 a.m. —— Meet at the Grand Hotel 111 Broadway Street

8:00 a.m. —— Leave the Grand Hotel to pick up Santa

8:15 a.m. —— Right on Canal Street to left on John. R. Junkin Drive to 61 South to

Beau Pre

8:25a.m. —– Leave with Santa, then the entourage begins

THE TREES SUBDIVISION

Right on Hwy 61 South to right on Live Oak Drive, then right on Pecanwood Drive,

loop back to Live Oak Drive, right on Live Oak Drive to U.S. 61 South, right on

U.S. 61 South.

FATHERLAND, VILLAGE GREEN, MONTEBELLO SUBDIVISIONS

From U.S. 61 South right on Jeff Davis Boulevard, left on North Temple Road, left on

North Meadow Drive, cross over to South Meadow Road, left on Forrest Drive, left

on South Temple Road, right on Jeff Davis Boulevard, left on Mansfield Drive, right

on Espero Drive, right on Melrose-Montebello Parkway, left on Arrowhead Drive,

left on Creek Bend Road, right on Eastwood Road.

1:15 p.m. depart the Grand Hotel on Broadway to right on Franklin Street, right on Canal Street, right on Main Street, left on Broadway, right on Silver Street to go Under the Hill to stop on Silver Street, then up the hill on D.A. Biglane, left on Canal Street, right on State Street to Liberty Road, left on Old Pond Road
