NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Jonetta Williams, 72, of Natchez who died on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 202 at 11 a.m. at Egypt Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Earnest Ford, Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Egypt Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Undertaking Company of Canton, MS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hargrave Enterprises-Webb Winfield Funeral Home in Natchez, and will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Ms. Jonetta Williams transitioned to her heavenly home, at the age of 72, on Dec. 10, 2024. She was born on Nov. 28, 1952, to the late David “DoNasty” Williams and Annie Mae Christmas.
Jonetta was raised in Natchez and was a graduate of the Sadie V. Thompson Class of 1970. In the 1980s, she received her Certificate of Certified Nursing Assistant from Delta Career College leading to her long-term position as a C.N.A. in which her dedication and passion led her to obtain the distinguished position, of C.N.A. Supervisor.
At the time of her transition from this life, she was a member of Egypt Baptist Church in Kingston.
Jonetta, also lovingly called Jo, enjoyed attending sporting events, attending Gospel programs and concerts, playing spades, doing crossword puzzles, and being a counselor to many. Most will remember her as being energetic, having a great sense of humor, loving, straightforward, and the most caring person to all she knew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David “DoNasty” Williams and Annie Mae Christmas; maternal grandparents, Rev. James W. Christmas and Rosie P. Christmas; paternal grandparents, Dan Williams and Nellie Blanton-Jackson; two sisters, Betty Christmas and Mary Ann Johnson; one brother, Mack Johnson; uncles, James Christmas Jr. and Ed Christmas, Joseph Sims; aunts, Frances Christmas-Carter, Margaret “Precious” Christmas, Viola Sims, Hester Christmas and Delores Christmas.
Jonetta’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: sons, Carlos (Chantel) Williams, Michael (Cynthia) Williams, and Brian Williams; daughters, Kendra Williams and Lamesha Johnson; grandchildren, DeCarlas Williams, and Christian Williams, Daija Wilson, Charles Green, Jordan Givens, Mikayla Williams-Fleming (Caleb), Maur’Keriyah Harbor, Michael Williams Jr., Maunaija Harbor, Czar Matthews, Mariaunna Thompson, and Marvin Thompson III; brothers, James Anderson, Calvin (Pam) Henderson Sr. and Charles “Dude” Harrison; sisters, Jerry Johnson, Irma Fakes, Velma Anderson-Lee (Walter Lee) and Georgia Faye Williams-Smith; uncles, Robert (Eliza) Earl Williams and Charles “Manny” Christmas; one special cousin, Alphonse “Bay Brother” Christmas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
