FRANKLIN COUNTY — A Franklin County man has been fatally shot by his ex-wife today in the area of Loop Road.

Sheriff Tom Tindle said the incident happened around 1 p.m. today and remains under investigation.

The woman has been brought to the sheriff’s office for questioning, though no arrest or charges have been made while investigators work to determine whether or not the shooting was in self-defense, Tindle said.

“It is still under investigation at this time,” he said.

The victim’s identity has not been released while authorities are still notifying the family. This story will be updated as more information is released.
