NATCHEZ — New vehicles may be coming to the Natchez Public Works department if Natchez aldermen approve a request to lease them from Enterprise.
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen meet Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Council Chambers, 115 S. Pearl St., across from City Hall.
Public Works Director Justin Dollar plans to ask the board to approve leases for new vehicles for his department.
Community Development Director James Johnston will seek permission from the aldermen to solicit bids for the millwork needed for the Duncan Park Golf Clubhouse Pro Shop. The millwork is being funded by the 2021 Recreation General Obligation Bond and the 2022 City General Obligation Bond.
City Clerk Megan McKenzie is expected to seek approval to pay the city’s bills and engage Gillon, Christian, and Mosby CPAs to perform the city’s annual audits. In the recent past, Silas Simmons CPAs have performed that work.
McKenzie will also seek approval to engage Harper and Bailey Governmental Solutions again to perform government affairs consulting.
Mayor Dan Gibson is expected to make special retirement presentations to Eddie Gaines and Collin Simmons. He will also introduce the city’s new Poet Laureate Joyce Washington-Ivery.
