Billy Joe “Slim” was born on March 15, 1957, in Natchez, to Henry and Bertha Jackson. Billy Joe “Slim” was educated in the Natchez Public School System where he received his high school diploma.

Billy Joe met and married the love of his life, Anna, who preceded him in death.

On Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at 7:15 pm, our beloved brother answered the call that all of us will have to answer one day. His family members were there, gathered on a conference call, praying, and singing songs of Zion, and yes, some were crying as Billy Joe transitioned from a life of pain and suffering to join his wife where there’s no more pain and suffering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bertha Jackson; a loving wife, Anna Jackson; two brothers, Charles Edward and Harvey Jackson, and three sisters, Carrie Fleming, Jessica Ford, and Juanita (Melvin) Hood.

Billy Joe leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter/granddaughter, Nyanza Edwards; two devoted brothers, David (Geraldine) Jackson and Pastor Johnny Ray (Maybelle) Jackson of Natchez; five sisters, Pearl Hatfield Sentell and Thelma Gail (Thomas) Denham of Dallas, TX, Martha Jean (Isaac) Sullivan and Lorraine Jackson of Pine Bluff, AR, and Brenda (Douglas) Jackson-Rich of Memphis, TN; six stepchildren, Claude Williams, Tiffany Edwards and Kyser Edwards of Natchez, Ebony (Louis) Edwards-Johnson of Dallas, TX, Tinisha Williams and Willie D. Chatman of Las Vegas, NV; eighteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
