NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has recovered thousands of dollars worth of welding equipment that was reported stolen from a burglary in West Baton Rouge.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said his office received a call Monday morning reporting stolen property was located on Steam Plant Road.
ACSO Investigators canvassed the area and located a 332-horsepower Lincoln Welder. The welder’s cover had been changed from the original, but after comparing serial numbers, investigators determined it had been reported stolen from West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.
Investigators also recovered an Omnipro 220 Vulcan welding machine, a heavy-duty welding cabinet, miscellaneous tools, gas bottles, and a rolling cart at an address on Lynda Lee Drive in Natchez.
West Baton Rouge officials reported about $75,000 worth of equipment was stolen in the burglary.
Patten said the investigation is ongoing, and investigators are following leads and interviewing additional people.
“I feel confident that an arrest will be made soon,” he said.
