With the assistance of the Children’s Advocacy Center and the CPSO Cyber Crimes Unit, probable cause was established to obtain arrest warrants for Thomas. Detectives later learned that he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court in reference to child pornography.

Authorities were led on a pursuit that crossed parish lines. Thomas reportedly evaded law enforcement in the Lake St. John area after exiting his vehicle and fleeing on foot around 1 a.m.

Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 tracked Thomas to a family residence in Concordia Parish where the K-9 lost his scent.

Upon learning that Thomas had fled to Texas, a multiple-agency operation was initiated to find him, which led to his apprehension on Sunday.

This investigation is still active. Anyone with information should contact the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit at (318) 473-0456 ext. 409.

Sheriff David Hedrick thanked the Dallas Police Department and the U.S. Marshalls for their assistance in this case.
