VIDALIA, La. — A Natchez man was picked up Monday evening by Vidalia Police Officers for an incident in Catahoula Parish.

Edward Austin Walker of Natchez was booked by Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office for aggravated domestic abuse battery on Monday, a Catahoula spokesperson said.

Vidalia Police Department responded to a B.O.L.O. (be on the lookout) for Edwards out of Catahoula Parish on Monday, stating he “allegedly shot at four individuals in Catahoula Parish before driving off.”

VPD Investigator Sam King said Wednesday morning that Vidalia officers acted on the information provided to them at the time, but Catahoula Parish may have updated information about the case.

A Catahoula investigator was not available as of Wednesday morning to comment on the case or the charges.

On Monday evening, Vidalia Police Lt. Spencer McAllister spotted a vehicle matching the description of Walker’s on Louisiana Highway 3180. McAllister caught up with the vehicle and after confirming it was Walker’s vehicle, McAllister and Officer Ronnie Wedgeworth conducted a felony stop and took Walker into custody without further incident.

“We’re glad to get this subject off the streets,” said VPD Chief Joey Merrill in a news release. “This situation could’ve been much worse for the victims in Catahoula Parish and potentially Concordia Parish had not this individual been caught in a timely manner.”
