Mrs. Stephens was born on Oct. 20, 1954, in Magnolia, AR to Herman and Idell Brown.

She was a devoted teacher for 28 years at Morgantown Elementary School where she taught sixth grade. She then went to Trinity Episcopal Day School and finished out her career teaching fourth grade.

She was a faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Adult Sunday School class known as the Pearls and she sang in the choir. Many would say it was not Christmas at Parkway until she sang “O Holy Night.” She was blessed with a beautiful voice and she faithfully used it to sing at many weddings, funerals, and also candlelight dinners at Magnolia Hall. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids no matter what they were doing. She loved her family with all of her heart.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Sonny Stephens; daughter, Sandy Cunningham of Brookhaven and Tim; her son, Brad Stephens of Madisonville, LA and Kerri; grandchildren, Conner Cunningham, Carson Cunningham, Catherine Stephens, Evelyn Stephens and Abbott Stephens; her brothers, Richard Brown and wife, Linda, Kenny Brown and wife, Patty; her sister-in-law, Debbie Fuller and husband, Kim; brother-in-law, Wade Stephens and wife, Kim.
