VIDALIA – Funeral services for Clay Karl Jones, 64, of Canton, formerly of Vidalia, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, in Flowood, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Riley officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, from 4 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Clay was born March 26, 1960, in Vidalia, the son of Margaret Jones and Obie Jones Sr. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern University, and he was retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Obie Jones, Jr., and Jerry Jones, Sr.

Clay leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Ge’Naro D. Jones, Kristen D. Jones, and Dedrin E. Jones; brothers, Steve Jones, Eric Jones, and Arthur Jones; sister, Rosetta Derozan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
