NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Leola Yvette Woods, 68, of Natchez, who passed away on Oct. 30, 2024, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at Milford Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Eddie D. Alsworth officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel and on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Leola, affectionately known as “Patty Cake”, was born on July 16, 1956, in Natchez, to the late Samuel Woods and Leola Russell Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Samuel “Sonny” Woods, Earnest Darnell Woods, Roosevelt Shelton, and nephew, Roosevelt Coach.

Leola built and left a legacy of love to be cherished by her husband; four daughters, Tanya Woods-Sewell (Theo), Tameka Woods-Pinder (Willie) of Natchez; Feletha Watson (Archie) of Hattiesburg, MS; and Ashley Howard of Clinton, MS; four sons; Tyrone Woods of Memphis, TN; Terry Woods, Timothy Woods (Shante), and Aubrey Watson (Evelyn) all of Natchez; two grandchildren whom she raised and reared as her own, TaDerrius Woods and TayVeion Wright Woods of Natchez; brothers, Charles Woods, Ameal Woods, and Aalonzo Woods of Atlanta, GA; step-brothers, Tony Lucas of Natchez, and Clyde McNeal of Dallas, TX; sisters, Lena Wilson and Rhonda Anderson (Kristen) of Natchez; Jacqueline Cox of Memphis, TN, Elaine Woodfork of Savannah, GA; and step-sister, Linda Johnson of Ypsilanti, MI; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren whom she absolutely loved and adored; god-daughter, Jasmine Thomas of Dallas, TX; honorary son, Larry Hooper of Natchez; honorary brother, Michael Bacon (Geneva) of Natchez; a special sister, Anita Alsworth of Brookhaven, MS; special cousins, Earl Morgan, Barbara Harris, and Claudia Woods; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
