Watch parties planned; rides to the polls available on Tuesday

NATCHEZ—As the nation goes to the polls on Tuesday to elect a new president, at least two Natchez residents are planning election watch events.

Natchez attorney and County Judge Tony Heidelberg plans an Election Watch Gathering beginning at 6 p.m. at The Event at Gayosa, 410 Gayosa Ave., Natchez.

Also, Joseph A.C. Smith of BlackNatchez.org will hold an Election Night Watch Party at Doll Baby’s, 6 St. Catherine St., Natchez, beginning at 5 p.m.

Smith said there would be music, and event attendees could choose between fried chicken or fried catfish dinners for $10 each.

In addition, BlackNatchez.org is offering rides to the polls on Tuesday to anyone who lives in Adams County and needs one. Paul Brown, who leads the Adams County Republican Party, said his group does not plan a formal watch party.

Polls are open in Adams County on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
