NATCHEZ — ACCS Headmaster David King has confirmed the resignation of Athletic Director Matthew Freeman, who he said will pursue new opportunities outside of the school.
“We wish him all the best,” King said.
King said a replacement for Freeman will not be named at this time.
“In the interim, current employees will assume the responsibilities of this position, including Je’Kel Foster, who will take on the role of head boys and girls varsity basketball coach,” King said. “Foster has worked with the basketball program for over a year, and AC looks forward to continuing that relationship through another successful season.”
Foster is a former Natchez High star who played at The Ohio State University and 12 years of professional basketball overseas.
Freeman began coaching and teaching at ACCS in 2012, became head basketball coach in 2019, and athletic director in 2023. He also coached varsity football.
