FERRIDAY, La. — A Ferriday man reportedly involved with an incident in Jonesville led officers on a pursuit into Concordia Parish, crashed his vehicle and attempted to escape on foot before he was finally taken into custody in the Frogmore area, authorities said.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office alerted residents on social media that Vondell Hawkins, 36, of Ferriday had been on the loose following the pursuit and was potentially armed and “extremely dangerous.”
Hawkins was taken into custody at approximately 7:50 p.m. Thursday by CPSO and Jonesville police. No details on what led to the pursuit were immediately available.
Sheriff David Hedrick thanked all of the agencies involved in the search.
After the pursuit into Concordia Parish, Hawkins reportedly lost control of his vehicle in the Frogmore area and exited on foot.
Multiple agencies began to search for Hawkins in the area around Frogmore Plantation, leading to the arrest.
