VIDEO: Hot air balloons take off behind Natchez Mall for first Natchez Balloon festival event

Hot air balloons took flight Friday morning from behind the Natchez Mall at approximately 7:15 a.m. and made their way aiming for a target at Concordia Parish Airport for the first event of the 2024 Natchez Balloon Festival.

Festival gates open at 4 p.m. today at Rosalie. There will be festival foods and merchandise for sale, carnival rides and a balloon glow starting at approximately 6:45 p.m. followed by fireworks. The Chee Weez take the stage for live music starting at 8 p.m.
