VIDALIA, La.  – A young Vidalia artist is raising funds to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of his girlfriend, cancer survivor Lilly-Anne Bryan.

Easton Anderson, 12, is selling hand-painted art at EPYX Art to raise funds for the hospital and to participate in the St. Judge Memphis Marathon in December. Last year he raised $2,500.

Bryan was diagnosed at age 4 with neuroblastoma. She has been cancer free for six years, but is now in Houston battling pulmonary fibrosis, a complication of her battle with neuroblastoma, and is being evaluated for a double lung transplant.

“I want to raise money for St Jude to thank them for saving Lilly-Anne’s life more than once,” Anderson wrote on his St. Jude fundraising page. “Last year I made spray painted Galaxy art to raise money so I could go to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital marathon and I ended up taking almost $2500 in donations and completing the 5K. This year I am having pop-up bake sales, making my galaxy art, and anything else I can think of. I’d love to beat last years amount, but I’ve set a personal goal of at least $1,000. Please share my link, share my page, share Lilly-Anne’s story, or donate. Every penny counts. Go gold!”

Sabrina Dore’, a Vidalia-based insurance agent and aunt to Anderson, shared on social media this week that she will match any monies made during the Natchez Balloon Festival weekend.

“He paints these amazing paintings by hand to raise money,” Dore’ wrote. “Easton sells his art for $10 local pickup and $17 shipped. If you’d like certain colors or pieces of his art held for you, send us a message … He may not have the exact ones in the pictures but if you see one you like just send him a message and he will check. If he doesn’t have that one can make one similar.”

Anderson is a resident of Vidalia. His mother Savannah Anderson is a teacher at CPA and his father is Charles Anderson, principal at Concordia Education Center in Ferriday.

Donations also can be made directly to Anderson’s efforts via his St. Jude fundraising page.
