Darryl Hassell shared this photo of the Northern Lights, which were visible in the Miss-Lou on Thursday night. Hassell took the photo on Thursday night on the Natchez Trace Parkway at the North Fork Coles Creek Camping Area at milepost 23.6. The lights were not visible to the naked eye, he said, and could only be seen in pictures taken by a digital camera using a long exposure time. This unusual event was caused by the arrival at earth of a strong Coronal Mass Ejection from the Sun, Hassell said.
