FROGMORE—Funeral services for Percy “Hambone” Jefferson, Sr. 73, of Ferriday, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. from the St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore, LA, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Eddie Schiele will officiate.

Mr. Jefferson, son of Lige and Annie Green Jefferson was born in Frogmore and died at his residence. He was a retired farmer.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Percy Jefferson, Jr. (Charita); Margaret Leonard (Alvin) of Cartersville, GA; Kantrail Minor (Tremeka) of Natchez; Carlton Curvin of Thibodaux, LA; Dusty Jefferson of Waterproof, LA; Ernetria Davis (Dewantront) of Ferriday; Whitney Henderson of Zachary, LA; Laurelle Scott (Jason) Chicago, IL; siblings, T. J. Jefferson, Sr. (Helen) of New Orleans, LA; Roger Jefferson (Daffney) of Riverdale, GA; Danny Jefferson (Diane) Ferriday; Thelma Jefferson and Francis Jefferson both of Natchez; Annie Bell Jefferson of Jackson, MS; Ruby Smith of Denton, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special grandson, Derrick Robinson, Jr. of Ferriday; special nephews, Donald Ray Jefferson (Jeri) of Ferriday; Richard Jefferson, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; lifelong companion, Sarah Davis of Ferriday; his spouse Hazel Jefferson and her two sons, Andrew Ford both of Ferriday and Jerome Ford of Atlanta, GA.

Preceding Mr. Jefferson in death are his parents, and eight siblings, Curtis, Sammie, Lige, Jr., Floyd, Inez Jefferson, Lucy Thema, Hattie Age, and Mary Rogers.
