NATCHEZ – A Funeral Mass for Betty Marie White, 80, of Natchez who died on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, in Natchez will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at St. Mary Basilica with Father Aaron Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at St. Mary Basilica.
Mrs. White was born on Nov. 8, 1943, in Natchez, the daughter of Edward H. Barrett and Margie Baroni Barrett.
Mrs. White graduated from Cathedral School in 1961. She retired after serving 43 years as Chief Deputy at the Adams County Tax Collector’s office. Her most rewarding role was being “Nani” to all of her grand and great-grandchildren, she loved being part of the Nine Needles, the Investors Dozen, her card playing group, and making her delicious pound cakes for her family, friends, and Church.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Edward H. and Margie Barrett; grandson, Tyler Spence and sister-in-law, Debi Barrett.
Survivors include her son, Reagan White (Emily); daughters, Kim Smith and Trisha Spence (Mark); grandchildren, Dylan White, Taylor Bryant (Jackson), Reed White, Lynley Easom (Clint), Bryce Smith (Tiffany), Chris Spence (Paige); two brothers, Edward Barrett (Lorre) and Mike Barrett; great-grandchildren, Carter, Jack, Brycin, Keegan, Shep, Waverly and Margaux; her uncle, Sonny Baroni; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dylan White, Reed White, Jackson Bryant, Bryce Smith, Chris Spence, Gary McIntosh, Binky Vines, and Clint Easom.
The family would like to thank Jose Serio, Merit Hospital, Riverbridge Specialty Hospital, Compassus Hospice, and sitters, Carolyn, Dorothy, and Annie.
