Thursday, Sep 26 update from the National Hurricane Center: Latest on Tropical Storm Isaac

As per the National Hurricane Center’s 4 pm Thursday update, Tropical Storm Isaac is 1285 miles west of the Azores and 880 miles east-northeast of Bermuda, with maximum sustained wind of 50 mph. It’s moving 10 mph to the east.

“Strengthening is forecast, and Isaac is expected reach or be near hurricane strength by late Friday or early Saturday.” according to analysts.

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND:

SURF: Swells generated by Isaac and a large wind fetch from a deep-layer trough are affecting portions of the coast of Bermuda and could spread into the Azores by this weekend. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
