VIDALIA, la. — Tonight on the agenda of the Concordia Parish Police Jury is a public hearing about an ordinance that will allow the police jury to hold a public auction for certain adjudicated properties.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at 4001 Carter Street, Room 2.

The properties are the first to receive offers with the help of E&P Consulting service, which lists the adjudicated properties on a multi-parish website, louisianalandsolutions.com, for public viewing and information.

The service doesn’t cost the parish anything but the advertising cost for a public notice about the auction. The service’s fee is billed to the person who is buying the property at auction.

It’s a public auction for anyone to come watch, but the only players are those who have paid a $1,000 administrative fee. At the end of the auction, if there are competing bids, the fees are refunded to all but the winner of the auction.

Other matters to be discussed during the Police Jury’s meeting tonight include:

• Review for the 2023 Tax Roll — Jeanie Archer, Assessor
• Public Defender Derrick Carson to address the Jury.
• Mr. Joey Brazil to address the Jury.
• Discussion of allowing the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office to install two cameras in the hallway outside of the courtroom to enhance security measures.
• Discuss approving the occupational license for Best Auto Trim and Upholstery by Jake Davis Jr.
• Discuss approving a hold harmless to assist Concordia Recreation District No. 1 with picking up debris at the Clayton Recreation Park.
• Discuss approving the Secretary-Treasurer Ariella Carter and Police Juror Cornell Lewis to attend the LCDBG Workshop in Baton Rouge on Sept. 26 through 27.
• Discuss any ordinance violations, work orders and the approval of the superintendent’s material and work requests.
• New business if any.
