Volunteers plant flowers, spruce up downtown ahead of October events

NATCHEZ—On Monday, volunteers from downtown businesses joined the City of Natchez Public Works staffers for the Fall in Love with Natchez Clean Up event.

Workers covered the city’s downtown, undertaking various projects, like planting colorful flowers and ornamental cabbages in the wells of trees along city sidewalks and generally sprucing up the city.

The City of Natchez and the Downtown Natchez Alliance came together to organize the project ahead of the many public events in October that will draw residents and tourists alike to downtown Natchez.
