NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Rev. Willie James Washington, 76, of Natchez, who died on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the West Gate Funeral Home (George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel) with Pastor Dandridge Brooks officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Willie was born on Sept. 5, 1947, in Wilkinson County, the son of Nicie and Alfred Washington. He was educated in the Natchez Public School System. He was a retired concrete worker. Willie was an active member of the Second Union Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed drawing and painting.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Lavon Washington; sisters, Annie Hilliard, Ruby Davis, and Joyce Houston; brother, John E. Washington; and brother-in-law, Danny Houston.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories: son, Keith Bradford (Lawanda); brothers, Frank Hill, Jr., (Pearlina), George Washington (Martha), Darrius Washington (Irma), Thomas Washington (Tiffany), JoeNathan Washington (Christine), and Julius Washington; sisters, Mary Bradford, Gloria Davis, Estella Gaulden, Alline Thompson, Patricia White (Bobbie), Thomastine Washington (Jerry), and Sandra Johnson; grandchildren, Garrick Johnson, Takeidra Bradford, Keilan Bradford, and Kyleigh Bradford; and a host of other family members and friends.
