WCCA rolls past Discovery Christian

FLORENCE — Wilkinson County Christian Academy senior quarterback Jacob Sessions threw for 152 yards, ran for another 101 yards, and accounted for four total touchdowns as the Rams cruised to a 46-14 road win over the Discovery Christian School Lions last Friday night.
Sessions had touchdown runs of 57 yards with 4:10 left in the first quarter go give WCCA an 8-0 lead and 44 yards nearly midway through the third quarter that gave the Rams a 46-6 lead. Even though he went 3-for-7 passing, two of those completions went for long touchdowns.
The first was a 73-yarder to Easton Buteaux at the 3:25 mark of the first quarter and just 14 seconds after Trent Poe scored on a 54-yard run for Discovery Christian that made it an 8-6 game.
Now up 16-6, Charles Grezaffi scored on a 60-yard TD run with 45 second left in the first quarter to give the Rams a 22-6 advantage. Grezaffi then scored on a 54-yard run and Sessions’s two-point conversion pass to Buteaux gave them a 30-6 lead with 6:38 left in the second quarter.
Sessions then threw a 32-yard TD pass to Cole Partridge with 2:13 left in the first as the Rams would take a commanding 38-6 lead into halftime. Grezaffi had two carries for 114 yards those two touchdowns.
Buteaux had one catch for 73 yards while Grezaffi had one reception for 47 yards and Partridge had catch for 32 yards. Grezaffi also completed a 21-yard pass to Justin Hendry.
Blaine Henderson scored on a 29-yard touchdown run and Joe threw a two-point conversion pass to Jadrien Shoemaker with 4:39 remaining in the ball game.
Defensively, Dax Doyle led the Rams with 16 tackles while Grezaffi had 11 tackles and Napoleon Howard had nine tackles.
WCCA (3-1) plays host to Collegiate Christian Academy next Friday at 7 p.m.
