NATCHEZ — Storms tonight could bring 1 to 3 inches of rain in places with locally higher amounts possible
Localized flash flooding, mainly in low-lying and urban areas, is possible too across South Mississippi and Central Louisiana tonight and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
It will be cloudy today with scattered to numerous showers, NWS states. Rainfall through the daytime will be light in most areas. Temperatures will struggle to rise in some areas due to clouds and rain, with highs only in the upper 70s. Farther north where less rain is expected, temperatures will top out in the middle to upper 80s.
It will remain cloudy tonight with scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms, with the highest rain chances along and south of I-20. Low temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Tomorrow, a 75 percent chance of rainfall remains for Natchez with the highest chance still south of the 1-20 corridor. Showers and a few thunderstorms will linger into Friday before clearing begins across parts of Arkansas, Northwest Mississippi, and North Louisiana during the afternoon. High temperatures will range from the middle 70s in the south to the middle and upper 80s northwest.
However, the weekend forecast is sunny with high temperatures expected to climb to the mid-80s in the south.
