NATCHEZ — A Natchez man is fortunate to be alive after crashing his SUV through a fence and into a yard on Foster Mound Road in Adams County Sunday morning, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.
Adams County E-911 dispatchers received a call about the crash at approximately 9:24 a.m. Sunday. Myles Gaines, age unknown at this time, apparently fell asleep while driving and crashed through the wood fence. Gaines was driving a 2008 black GMC Denali.
Patten said a 2×6 wood board went through the windshield of the vehicle and hit Gaines in the head. Gaines was transported to Merit Health Natchez by AMR Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. “He is very blessed to be alive,” Patten said.
