Gilma no longer forecast to be a Category 2 hurricane. It weakened to a Category 1 hurricane on Tuesday

The National Hurricane Center’s 10 am Tuesday advisory reported that Gilma has lost strength and has downgraded from a Category 2 hurricane to a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 miles per hour.
Category 1 Hurricane Gilma is 945 miles east of Hilo Hawaii, with maximum sustained wind of 75 mph. It’s moving 13 mph to the west.
“Rapid weakening is expected today, with steady weakening continuing after that.” according to meteorologists. “Gilma is forecast to weaken to a remnant low by Thursday night.”
