NATCHEZ — A man who attempted to run while being escorted from Adams County Justice Court to the county jail on Friday afternoon now faces an escape charge in addition to possession of a controlled substance.

Shortly after being arraigned for possession of a controlled substance and receiving a $200,000 bond on Friday afternoon, Brian McKlemurry broke away from deputies who were walking him to the jail from Adams County Justice Court, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.

McKlemurry had been arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and was brought before Judge Danny Barber for arraignment. Barber issued a $200,000 bond on the charge, but while walking McKlemurry back to the Adams County Jail from Justice Court, McKlemurry broke away from deputies and attempted to escape.
