NATCHEZ – Funeral Services for Lora Laird of Natchez will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home with Dan Wynn officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Laird died on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at Merit Health Natchez. She was born on April 26, 1935, the daughter of Clem and Myrtis Lambert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. W. Laird, Jr.; infant daughter, Phylliss Ranae Laird; son-in-law, Keith Jackson; parents, and siblings Elzy Lambert, Howard Lambert, James Lambert,

Irene Kester, Johnnie Bullock, Mary E. Preston, and Inez Sims.

She served on the board at Jefferson Davis Hospital. She was the owner and operator of Lairds Beauty College in Natchez. After selling the beauty school, she worked as a cosmetologist

alongside her husband and three children at Laird’s Barber and Beauty Center. After retirement, she lived her life devoted to her family. She was the best caregiver to her husband. She was the

best mother and Maw Maw. Her love and dedication to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were unmatched. She was an amazing cook, the QVC Queen, Lover of all gadgets, clothes, purses, shoes, jewelry, and flowers. She attended Morgantown Baptist Church where she developed loving and lasting relationships that she cherished. She was known for her quick wit and always enjoyed it when her friends came over for a cup of coffee.

Survivors include three children, Bruce Laird and wife, Nancy of Vidalia, Randy Laird of Natchez, and Tammy Jackson of Natchez; grandchildren, Lindsey Middleton, Wells Middleton and wife, Lacey, Kate Lee Laird, Hudson Laird, Isabella Bourque; two great-grandchildren who she adored, Conrad Middleton and Levi Middleton; brother-in-law, Billy and Kay Laird of Lafayette, LA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Laird, Randy Laird, Wells Middleton, Hudson Laird, Dicky Laird, Gene Laird, and Bull Bullock.

The family would like to thank Dr. Borum, Dr. Flattman, and the wonderful staff at Merit Health Natchez and Compassus Hospice for their wonderful care.

A special thank you to Rene Adams for the love and compassion that she showed in her final days.
