Aug. 2, 1941 – Aug. 4, 2024

NATCHEZ – Mary Ann Huffman, 83, formerly of Natchez passed away on Aug. 4, 2024. She was born on Aug. 2, 1941, in Elizabeth, NJ to John and Mary Yarush.

Mary Ann graduated from Rahway High School in New Jersey in 1959. She married Louis Atsinger on Oct. 21, 1961. She was married to her second husband John Dale Huffman on May 31, 1976.

Mary Ann worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and lived in Natchez for about 35 years until she moved up north to Indiana in 2010. Mary Ann truly loved her pets and her family.

Mary Ann’s sister Barbara shared this memory: “Although we sometimes disagreed, I learned a lot from Mary Ann. As a younger sister, I learned from her mistakes to not make the same mistakes. By this I mean, stick to your plan and not be intimidated by parental dictates. I learned from Mary Ann how to be more diplomatic.”

Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Barbara Van Decker; sons, Ethan (Jo Ann) Atsinger and Louis Matthew (Susan) Atsinger; grandchildren, Johnathan, Anna, Brandy, Josh, and Chris; great-grandchild, Lily (Brandy’s daughter).

Burial Services are planned for 11 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2024, at Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, MS. Arrangements by Midwest Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, IN.
