NATCHEZ – Graveside services for Marjorie Edell Rogers McSwain Pruitt will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at Laird’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pruitt died on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at her home. She was born on March 9, 1930, in Natchez the daughter of Earl Dacre Rogers Sr. and Edell Newman Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harlan Brandon McSwain Sr, and George Pruitt; brother, Earl Dacre Rogers Jr.; son, Brad McSwain and his wife, Cindy McSwain.

She is survived by daughter, Charm McSwain Powell of Natchez; grandchildren, Brandon McSwain (Neen) of Brandon, MS, Russ McSwain of Natchez, Mandy Powell (Matt) of Huntington Beach, CA, and Josh Powell (Ashley) of Madison, MS; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marjorie, “Markie” to her grandchildren, spent many years as a proud homemaker. She took pride in keeping a beautiful home and yard and loved cooking for family and friends.

Marjorie was a faithful, long-standing member of Morgantown Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and enjoyed singing solos for her beloved church family.
