Single vehicle wreck involves 18-wheeler leaving highway, crashing into woods

NATCHEZ — A serious accident involving an 18-wheeler occurred on U.S. 84 east near McNeal Road and the Natchez Trace overpass on Thursday morning.

The 18-wheeler left the roadway and traveled into the woods, Corporal Craig James of Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed. The cause is still being investigated and the driver’s identity has not yet been released.

Mississippi Highway Patrol and Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies are at the scene of the crash.
