FAYETTE – Funeral services for Catherine Jones, 65, of Fayette, who died on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Fayette, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Jefferson County High School Auditorium with Pastor Anthony Colenberg officiating.

Burial will follow at the Beckett Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home – Fayette Branch.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the Fayette branch and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the school.

Catherine was born March 23, 1959, in Natchez, the daughter of Luebirda Jones and Clarence Knight. She was a graduate of Jefferson County High School, class of 1977. She was the Assistant Director at Kiddy Karousel Daycare Center until her retirement. Catherine was a member of the Beckett Chapel A.M.E. Church and the Jefferson County Institute for Terminal Ill support group. In her spare time, she enjoyed working with kids.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Jones; and sister, Odessia Gooden.

Catherine leaves to cherish her loving memory: son, JarBoris Oliver; daughters, Traniecy Robertson (Charles) and Alicia Jones; brothers, Clarence Jones (Janet), Henry Jones (Betty), and Kenny Ray Jones; sisters, Gail Fleming (James), Luvenia Griffin (Willie) and Hazel Jones; four granddaughters, and two grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
