NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Samantha Grinnell, 36, of Biloxi, formerly of Natchez, who died on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Metairie, will be Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at noon at Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Samantha was born May 25, 1988, in Natchez, the daughter of Theresa Grinnell and Sam King. She was a 2006 graduate of Natchez High School and later received her Associate’s degree in Healthcare Management. She was a member of the Haven Chapel United Methodist Church. Samantha had a “love for life” and she enjoyed brightening everyone’s day with her beautiful smile. She enjoyed dancing, laughing, and attending parties.

She is preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Elnora King and Bill King; maternal grandmother, Ethel Skipper; and aunts, Birdie Wade, Lillie B. Mazique, and Mary Dennis.

Samantha leaves to cherish her loving memory: her mother, Theresa Grinnell; son, Dontaven Grinnell; daughters, Jamerra Kelly and Lydia Varnado; brothers, Bryan Grinnell, Sam King Jr., Trenthony King, and Cetric King; sisters, Shemika Grinnell-Hayes (Rodney) and Sabrina Grinnell; grandfather, Aaron Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
