NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Maurice Williams, 60, of Woodville, who died on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Natchez, will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at West Gate Funeral Home (George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel) with Pastor Johnathan Hargrave officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Maurice was born on Feb. 10, 1964, in Natchez, the son of Laura Spencer and Willie Albert Smith. He was a graduate of Wilkinson County High School. Maurice was a member of the Free Spring Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was “the life of the party.”

Maurice is preceded in death by his father; step-dad, David Spencer; brothers, Barney Williams, Walter Smith, Albert Brengettsey, and Lee Mark Brengettsey; and sisters, Audrey Smith, Savanna Smith, Karen Abram, Shelia Smith, Shawanna Smith, and Janie Lee Minor.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: mother, Laura Williams Spencer; brothers, Irvin Williams, Fredrick Williams, Patrick Williams, Calvin Smith, Louis Smith, Alvin Smith, Cleveland Owens, and Bo “Julius” Washington; sisters, Irma Williams, Lytonia Smith Neal, Cynthia Ward, and Dorothy Sylvester; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
