Woodlands was built in 1811 for Henry and Sarah Turner as a one-story house with front gallery. In 1826, builder John McCleary added a large two-story addition encircled by galleries for widowed Sarah Turner. The house was located near Duncan Park and Melrose and burned in 1925.
