FERRIDAY, La. – The 32nd annual Lake St. John Flotilla was filled with fun, festivities,  and community spirit. The beloved event is a staple on the weekend following the 4th of July in the Lake St. John community.

Lake St. John faithful celebrated Saturday with a boat parade, showing their incredible creativity. It began Saturday with a blessing of the boats by local priest, Father Pardue. Lake-goers watched from piers all around the lake as the parade of boats passed by. Themes this year varied from patriotic to popular culture.

The event kicked off at approximately 2 p.m., with the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office leading the way. Following the Sheriff was the parade Grand Marshals. This year’s Marshals were the owners of Spokane Resort, Tim and Bridgette Montpelier, Brenda Carter, and Buddy Goodson. These couples have supported the flotilla for many years.
