NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Yolanda Lynn Franklin, 53, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Baton Rouge will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Hope the Vision Center with Bishop Stanley Searcy, Sr., officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Yolanda was born October 13, 1970, in Natchez, the daughter of Mary Franklin and John Tyler, Sr. She attended South Natchez and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Alcorn State University. She was a member of New Hope the Vision Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father; son, Fredrick Smith, Jr.; niece, De’Elra Clark; nephew, Malcolm Collins; special cousin, Porsha Singleton; and godson, Avery Johnson, Sr.
Yolanda leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Mary Franklin; sons, Roderick Franklin, Darius Franklin, Jeremy Franklin, and Jarrell Franklin; daughters, Anightress Neal, Whitany Franklin, and Brittany Franklin; brothers, Myron Franklin and John Tyler, Jr.; sisters, Patina Tyler Jackson, Tracey Tyler- McDonald, Kimberly Tyler Banks, Stephanie Franklin, and Kristie Franklin; nineteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one god-son, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
