FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Calvin Dewayne Carter, 52, of Humble, TX, who died on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Natchez, will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Word of Faith Ambassador Outreach Center in Ferriday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robbie Cade Furdge officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home and on Sunday from noon until service time at the church.

Calvin was born Nov. 22, 1971, the son of Betty Jean Carter and Robert Lee Smith. He was a graduate of Ferriday High School. He was the owner and operator of Carter’s Transport trucking company.

He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Robert and Essie Lewis and Leslie Carter; sister, Brenda Gayle Carter; niece, Gabrieal Carter; and brother, James Cole Davis.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother; sons, Kevin Carter, Jr., Ke-Zhun Carter, and Zyterrius Jefferson; daughter, Cali Carter; brothers, Tony Carter, Andrew Carter (Candice), Tyrone Carter, and Michael Smith; sisters, Ulanda Carter and Robin Johnson; special nieces, Jessica Carter (Garderia), LaToya Carter, and Jeanetra Carter; aunts, Vera Cowins, Pinkey McKeel, Annice Lewis Jackson; uncles, Anthony Lewis, and Lavone Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
