NATCHEZ — Dionne Surget Gormanous of Natchez, born on March 24, 1949, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Calcutta House, Lafayette, Louisiana. Her husband of 28 years, Shickery John Gormanous Jr., was by her side.

Surget is survived by her children Sarah Eidt Maier and Seth Eidt (Sherry), and stepdaughters Natalie Gormanous-Trahan (Ian) and Angela Gormanous Franklin. She leaves behind seven grandchildren who will miss her very much.

Surget was known in Natchez for catering unique events and was a fantastic cook. Her loved ones have fond memories of her special culinary skills when she would prepare delicious dishes and desserts for family gatherings. Surget was also an avid gardener. Her green thumb resulted in an abundance of produce, spices, and herbs.

She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Surget wanted no memorial service, and the Family kindly asks for privacy as they grieve.
