NATCHEZ – Graveside services for Diane Wheat, 80, of Natchez who died on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Vidalia will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Natchez National Cemetery with Henry McElroy officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:15 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wheat was born on May 5, 1944, in Pueblo, Colorado the daughter of Clarence B. Allee and Mildred M. Thayer.
She loved being a mom to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren, and to fish. Mrs. Wheat was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Mrs. Wheat was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Wheat; her parents, Clarence B. Allee and Mildred Thayer Allee; and three sisters, Shirley Hurley, Marilyn Martinez, and Charlotte Jordon.
Survivors include her two sons, Warren Wheat and Dale Wheat and wife, Amanda; two grandchildren, Ashton and Allee and their mother, Danielle Murray; nephew and niece, Bruce and Janet Bayless; special friend and caregiver who is like a daughter, Shelia Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
