NATCHEZ – Private immediate family only services for Kathleen Vines Hutchins, 98, of Natchez who passed from this earth June 2, 2024, was held June 7, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home with Jim Latham officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

 Mrs. Hutchins was born Nov. 7, 1925, the daughter of Luther and Gertrude Vines. She was employed by Armstrong Tire Company as a secretary for many years before working with Natchez-Adams County Public School System and Co-Lin Jr. College for over twenty years. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ serving on many committees and teaching Sunday School for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Talmadge Hutchins; parents, a great-grandson, Kyle Hutchins; two brothers, L. T. Vines and Edgar Vines; and two sisters, Willie Mae Murray and Marie Murray.

Survivors include a son, Alan Hutchins, and wife, Stephanie of Natchez, MS; a daughter, Frances Burr, and husband, Steve of Meadville, MS; three grandchildren, Chris Hutchins and wife, Skeeter of Natchez, MS; Lauren Henderson and husband, Keith of Montgomery, AL, and Aubry De Leon and husband, Raul of Guatemala; five great-grandchildren, Kailey Hutchins and her fiancé, John Ashton Hicks, Rhett Henderson, Baily Jane Henderson, Krista, and Alexa Kathleen Benavente; one brother, Marion (Bud) Vines, and wife, Janet of Natchez, MS; her very special caregivers, Janice Anderson, and Cecelia Jones; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Chris Hutchins, David Gaude, Blasé Gaude, Brent Gaude, Binky Vines, and Chip Sturdivant.
