NATCHEZ – Natchez police are investigating a Friday evening shooting that sent two men to the hospital.
Natchez Police Chief Cal Green said William Rouse, no age available, and Hunter Craft, no age available, were both injured and en route to the hospital. “I’m not sure how serious their injuries are,” she said.
The incident took place shortly after 6 p.m. at 412 Walnut St., and Green said police are still trying to determine exactly what happened. “We have two suspects in custody and other people we’re talking to,” she said.
Rouse, who lives in the house, was apparently coming into the house and Craft “was in the house already,” she said.
Green said police believe “they were shooting at each other” but said she could not comment on a possible reason for the shootings.
Green said two other witnesses were in the house at the time and being questioned as well.
A dog was injured in the incident. “We don’t know if the dog was shot or injured by glass,” she said. “We’re trying to find an emergency vet.”
