NATCHEZ — A Natchez man is dead after a two vehicle crash on Friday night at approximately 10 p.m. near the traffic lights near LaFiesta Mexican Restaurant and Natchez Market.
Natchez Police Commander Jerry Ford said a juvenile was driving a tan SUV and was turning from the westbound lane of John R. Junkin Drive into the parking lot of LaFiesta and Natchez Market when he was struck broadside by a couple in a red SUV. The tan SUV overturned in the roadway.
The juvenile was the only person in the tan SUV. He was taken by private vehicle to the hospital.
The driver of the red SUV was Veronica Skipper of Natchez. She was taken to Merit Health Natchez by AMR ambulance.
The passenger in Skipper’s vehicle was her husband, Eugene Skipper. He died as a result of the crash. It is not known if the passenger died from injuries received during the crash or from a heart attack, Ford said.
No information was available about the extent of injuries to the Veronica Skipper or the juvenile.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. It is still under investigation, Ford said.
