VIDALIA – Funeral services for Nora Mae Palmer, 98 of Vidalia, LA will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Natchez, MS, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Nora Mae Palmer was born on Saturday, January 23, 1926, in Stephens, AR., and passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, in Vidalia, LA.  She was a resident of Vidalia and a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Barkheimer; mother, Naomi Dudley Barkheimer; husband, James Byron Palmer; son, Charlie Palmer; daughter, Patricia Greene;
grandson, Adam Hogue; granddaughter, Adeline Hogue; brother, Phillip “Buster” Barkheimer, and two sons-in-law, Dennis Randall and James “Skinny” Greene.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Greene of Vidalia, LA; grandsons, Bruce Greene Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Madisonville, LA, Jay Greene and his wife, Tamarin of Clyde, TX, Justin Greene of Vidalia, LA, and Johnny Lee and his wife, Kody of Vidalia, LA; granddaughters, Buffy Greene of Livingston, LA, and Jessica Greene of Abilene, TX and son-in-law- Bruce Greene Sr. “Fat Albert” of Vidalia, LA. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin Greene, Jay Greene, Bruce Greene, Conner Greene, Brad Jones and Johnny Lee Greene.
