FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Herbert Brown, 80, of Ferriday, LA will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. from Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, MS with military honors. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown, son of Phil and Delphine Thomas Brown, was born in Ferriday and died at his residence. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, earning an honorable discharge for his services to our country. He retired from the Natchez National Cemetery as a groundskeeper. He was also a member of the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday.

He is survived by his siblings, Midget Brown and his wife, Dorothy; Lillian Harris all of Ferriday; Marville Brown of St. Louis, MO and Gloria Carter of Sicily Island, LA. Also, a devoted nephew, Michael A. Brown of Ferriday. In addition to a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding him in death are his parents, and three brothers, LaVon Brown, Sherman Brown, and Phil Brown.
