FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Myrtis Johnson, 91, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. from First Baptist Church on Second Street in Ferriday under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery. Pastor Michael Reed will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 1 p.m. until the service time at the church.
Mrs. Johnson, daughter of Dave Johnson, Sr. and Norma Hines Johnson was born in Ferriday and died at the Column Nursing Home in Jonesville, LA.
She is survived by three daughters, Alexis Johnson of Ferriday; Veronica Hoye of Oakland, CA, and Brenda Tucker of Emeryville CA; her half-sister, Mariah Cooper of Waterproof, LA; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, Eddie Henry and his wife, Delores of Ferriday;
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Elvis Johnson, and one daughter, Sandra K. Johnson.
