During a recent Special Olympics qualifying at the Tom F. Williams Memorial Stadium, everyone was a winner whether they crossed the finish line first or last.
Close to 100 athletes participated regionally in the event on Friday, April 19. Whether participating in walking, running, sprinting, or throwing events, each of the Olympians finished with smiles on their faces.
Events qualify participants for the Mississippi Special Olympics Summer Games scheduled May 10 through 12 at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi.
