NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Leola Elizabeth Rush, 76, of Menomonee Falls, WI, formerly of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Menomonee Falls, WI, will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. at New Hope The Vision Center with Pastor Stanley Searcy, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow at the LaGrange Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Leola was born May 30, 1947, in Natchez, the daughter of Ruby Lee Alexander Hunt and Leroy Hunt, Sr. She was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and later went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Math from Tougaloo College and her Master of Arts in Education from Cardinal Stritch University. Leola was a retired high school teacher in Milwaukee, WI. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Rush; and sisters, Joyce Hunt Washington and Janie Louise Hunt.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her son, Jason E. Rush (Cheria); brother, Leroy Hunt, Jr.; grandchildren, Jayden and Wesley Rush; and a host of other relatives and friends.
