March 7, 1947 – March 30, 2024
On the morning of March 30, 2024, Virgie Nell Winborne died at the age of 77.
Virgie was born to Clyde and Leonia McGehee on March 7, 1947. After graduating from South Natchez High School, she wed the love of her life Tommy Winborne on June 10, 1966. Together they raised three daughters in Natchez, MS. In 1990, she and Tommy moved to Greenville, MS. Virgie started a 25-year-long career as an office manager for a dental clinic. Patients were greeted daily with her infectious smile and loving personality. Virgie always had a way about her that made every person feel special. She found the best qualities in people and made certain to tell them.
In 2013, after retiring from the dental clinic, Virgie and Tommy moved back to Natchez. They enjoyed life together with their two oldest daughters and grandchildren. Virgie loved taking care of her dogs, and fishing with Tommy. She made sure that God was always the guiding light in her life. The Lord called Virgie home peacefully in her sleep on the day before Easter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Roger Dale McGehee; sister, Shirley McGehee Whitehead, and her daughter, Anissa Dawn Branton.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Tommy Winborne; brother, Clyde McGehee Jr. (Nancy); brothers-in-law, Gary Winborne (Kathy), and Randall Winborne (Jeanette); sister-in-law, Patricia Anderson (David); daughters, Sabrina Pressgrove (Bill), Marcie McGaugh (Brian); close family friend, Donna Fiorello; grandchildren, Carson Pressgrove, Conner Pressgrove, Cole Priest (Brianna), Tate Branton (Kayleigh), Searcy Branton, Gracie McGaugh, Madolyn McGaugh, and Fletcher McGaugh; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Grayson, and Adyson.
Virgie’s positive outlook on life was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She lived her life and loved so selflessly. She will be greatly missed.
We love you, Virgie
